Interest and/or practice of interdisciplinarity:
I am Assistant Professor (with full dedication) at the Academic Department of Espacio Interdisciplinario (Universidad de la República, Uruguay) since 2009. There I develop research, teaching and outreach activities. I hold a PhD and a Master Degree from the University of Granada (Spain). I completed my PhD (cum laude) on the analysis of the concept of socialization of scientific knowledge as an interdisciplinary problem. I have research experience in inter- and transdisciplinary contexts, including theoretical, methodological and problem – oriented development. I coordinate two research projects related to inter and transdisciplinary dynamics in Latin America. My work as a Professor of “Science, Technology and Society Studies” (Bachelor in Development) has provided me with the inspiration as well as with the empirical data to develop other research streams related to interdisciplinary research in Uruguay. This position involved instruction in methodology, development of course materials and their evaluation as well as the tutoring of two postgraduate theses related to interdisciplinary knowledge production. In this context, I have organized lectures and conferences as well as assisted interdisciplinary academic groups to develop themselves.
